AWARDING CREATIVITY
Wedding and Event Videographers Association International (WEVA), the world’s largest such organization, recently held their annual meeting and convention. Minnetonka-based Once Upon a Time Video Productions received a 1998 Creative Excellence Award, beating out competition from around the world. Once Upon a Time Video Productions is a subsidiary company of Maverick Productions Inc., both operated by Perry Cowen, an Emmy award-winning videographer/editor with a background in journalism and documentary work. Steve Nelson of KRIEVE Productions, president of the local WEVA chapter notes that “Perry has really made a mark on the videography industry in the Twin Cities. He’s been a real leader. He’s doing things no one else can or will do.” Cowen is also a regular instructor of National Camera Exchange’s Next Step program and has addressed the Minnesota Entrepreneurs Club on how to effectively use a video for marketing. Once Upon a Time Video Productions creates videos for individuals and families who want to show the artistry of their special event: weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.
